ParentLog

Support

Email us: somvexdynamics@gmail.com
Tell us which email service you use (Gmail or Outlook), your PowerSchool version if you know it, and what you saw. A screenshot of the log-entry form with student details covered helps a lot. We answer within one working day.

Common questions

The "Log this contact" button doesn't appear in Gmail

Open a single message so its text is showing; the button sits in the message header next to the date. If it's still missing, reload the Gmail tab. Gmail's "Basic HTML" view isn't supported.

Nothing appears on my PowerSchool page

ParentLog only runs on the PowerSchool address you allowed. Open the ParentLog panel → Settings → paste your PowerSchool address (the part before /teachers/, e.g. https://ps.yourdistrict.org) → Allow → reload the PowerSchool tab.

It says "Form not recognised"

Your school uses a custom log form. ParentLog won't guess where fields go; use the Copy buttons in the panel to paste the text, date and subject yourself. Send us a screenshot of the empty form (student details covered) and we'll add support for it.

The Log Type dropdown picked the wrong option

Settings → "Log type to select" → type the exact option text your form shows (for example Teacher Contact or Parent Contact).

The date is in the wrong format

Settings → "Date format your form expects" → choose MM/DD/YYYY, DD/MM/YYYY or YYYY-MM-DD.

An entry is stuck on "Submitted – confirming"

ParentLog confirms a save when PowerSchool moves to a page without the form. If your PowerSchool stays on the same page after Submit, check the entry appeared in the student's log list, then open it in the panel and click Mark as saved in PowerSchool.

I can't install extensions on my school Chromebook or account

Your district manages Chrome and has to allow ParentLog. Send your IT team our information page for school IT; it explains the permissions and that no data leaves the browser.

Where is my data? Can I export it?

Everything is stored in Chrome on your computer, nothing on our side. Settings → Export ledger (CSV) gives you a spreadsheet. Delete all entries removes everything. See the privacy policy.
